Fat Guy in A Rain Coat
I think that spring has sprung. I definitely did not take a coat to work yesterday at all. Today I have my raincoat, but I don't think I'm going to need it. I know that I might be ruffling the feathers of the weather gods (or is it just the groundhog now) by saying this, and it will probably snow tomorrow. However, the forecast is for sunshine and 70, so I'm going to hope for that.
I did hear on the radio this morning that it's supposed to be a rainy spring, which is not so exciting. I'm having unpleasant flashbacks of that first summer in Boston (2000), when it rained so much I didn't even see the sun for weeks at a time. That was hard for a SoCal girl, but I much prefer the rain to the snow (because the other part of being a SoCal girl was that there was a drought going on for pretty much all of the 12 years I was there. There was no playing in the sprinklers or walking on the grass, because the water was too valuable).
The real reason that I haven't been blogging very much is that I've started dating someone new and he's taking up lots of my time. We've been doing lots of fun stuff, but mostly just talking and talking. He has gotten me hooked on Sports Night, which is the Aaron Sorkin creation before The West Wing. Sports Night is great. I'm officially a fan (as lots of you will be, but particularly Jessica and Kristin). My days and weeks are not long enough now.
Elizabeth and I went to get ice cream for lunch yesterday, and we saw someone who had just gotten shot. He tried to rob a bank on 15th street in the middle of lunch hour, and the security guard took him out. He was still alive. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting with my ice cream.
I have a Happy Hour with work tonight. Is it possible that I've been at this job for seven months? And I've been in the DC-Metro area for nine? At this time last year I was in Dallas waiting tables at Snuffer's and working in Rael's flower shop.
