At Your Age, People Go Both Ways

My mom said that to me last night. It made lots of sense in context, but taken completely and blatantly out of context, it's pretty darn funny. Hmm.

It's raining in DC and I had to de-ice my car again this morning. This is one of those days where it feels like the sun will never shine again -- like that scary movie that was on TV when we were little about the planet where it always rained, and there was one day of sunshine every 10 years or something, and on that day the mean kids locked the other kid in a storage room. And that kid knew the other kids were running through fields of blooming flowers in the sun, with the wind in their hair and dry warmth on their skin, and that a day like that wouldn't come again for years. And he was locked in the closet.

There are big fun weekend plans ahead, regardless. I'm going out to dinnah tonight, and tomorrow I think I'm going to see Miracle. I love a good sports movie -- especially if there's an exetended training montage. And lots and lots of cute boys. (Note to B. -- maybe this is why I think it will be good and you don't so much.) Kim's Second Annual Mid-winter Luau is tomorrow night, which promises lots of tropical/pasty white fun.

My cell phone is back, although it has occasionally been giving me a busy signal, which is a sound I have not heard in quite some time. I don't know anyone's phone number (except my parents). That's probably not going to change, even with this recent scare.

Tom Brady is on the cover of SI this week. I'm not givin' that to no one.
